  • Assistant Housekeeping Manager The Assistant Housekeeping Manager is responsible for assisting the Executive Housekeeping Manager with managing all functions of the housekeeping department.
This may include anything related to the cleanliness of the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house (non-kitchen areas). Duties include but are not limited to resolving guest concerns, scheduling, coaching and counseling, maintaining departmental standards, staff development, interviewing/hiring, and supporting the team members with their respective areas. The Assistant Housekeeping Manager is also responsible in assisting the department head in maximizing room revenue, controlling expenses, and driving the highest level of customer service. The Assistant Housekeeping Manager will conduct department meetings and pre-shifts to maintain open communication with colleagues. Other duties and responsibilities include: Help plan the workday for the Housekeeping department and distribute assignments accordingly. Schedule employees, keeping within budget guidelines. Utilize all resources available to meet the department's goals. Process weekly payroll for the department. Help train employees on an ongoing basis. Tour property daily and note any extra/special cleaning or maintenance required. Conduct room inspections daily. Check quality and quantity of work of room attendants and supervisors. Ensure work orders are being consistently done as needed and followed up on. Maintain professional and constant communication with Front Desk and Engineering. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and in good working order. Assist and keep accuracy of Lost and Found department. Ensure all rooms, public areas, departmental storages and working areas are cleaned according to department's standards. Assist in training and development of programs for housekeeping staff. Ensure the Housekeeping and Laundry departments comply with OSHA regulations. Assist in maintaining par stock levels and in keeping expenses within budget guidelines. Ensure guest's requests related to Housekeeping are met in a timely manner. Conduct employee evaluations. Maintain a neat and orderly work area. Follow all safety procedures for the department and for Miraval. Assist and perform any other duties management may request to aid in the operation of the Resort Keep track of par level and have necessary inventory for business needs. Support/Shift Coverage for Front Office and/or F&B on an as needed basis. The position responsibilities outlined above are in no way to be construed as all encompassing. Wage Information:
The salary range for this position is $70,304
  • 78,750.
This is the pay range for this position that Hyatt Regency La Jolla reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education. All Candidates must be in possession of identification proving authorization to work in the United States. This Position does not offer sponsorship of Work Visas. Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of progressive hotel room management experience preferred
  • Service oriented style with professional presentations skills
  • Hotel/Hospitality degree an asset
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
