Job Description We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Grand Del Mar, as our new Housekeeping Manager. Responsibilities Under Supervision of the Director of Housekeeper, the Housekeeping Manager will be responsible for the daily ownership and operational execution of the Housekeeping Department. This will include the processing of tasks. This position is dependent on both teamwork and a solid foundation based with the mechanical hour capacity and productivity reports and ownership of processes a must for development Oversee daily operations for the housekeeping department Organize both morning and evening shifts and ensure both teams are set for their day-to-day activities Ensure daily room inspections are completed and follow up is completed with room attendants and supervisors Assist with scheduling and training of housekeeping team Walk all public areas to ensure areas are clean and up to 5-star standards Assist with payroll which include time edit and to ensure all paperwork is completed in a timely manner Attend any daily and weekly manager meetings as well as pre-conference meetings Oversee laundry staff to also ensure day to day operations are set up daily Ordering and processing of all housekeeping PO's and ensure all inventories are up to par levels Qualifications Previous experience of three year in housekeeping required. Previous experience of two years in a supervisory or leadership role required. College graduate or equivalent experience is preferred. Able to communicate in English well both verbally and written. Able to communicate in either Spanish or French Creole is preferred. Reading and counting is essential. Computer efficient in both Excel and Word is preferred. Requires Basic knowledge of Housekeeping, approximately three years of hotel housekeeping experience, and at least two years in a supervisory or leadership role. Experience working in a four-or-five-star luxury environment is preferred. Must be able to coach council and develop employees through basic skill. Must be able to motivate by example either on the production floor or, in a classroom environment. Needs to have an aptitude to promote minimum levels of skills and abilities that would create a positive outcome, in a hot or challenging work environment. Physical Demands Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs. throughout the day. Ability to follow directions, perform tasks with attention to detail, speed accuracy, and follow-through. Ability to work without direct supervision. Ability to work well as part of a team, Set up and organize workstation with designated supplies and equipment. Replenish supplies and equipment as needed during the shift. Report any faulty equipment, linen shortages, maintenance needs, safely hazards and other problems immediately to your supervisor. Restock work areas for the next shift as assigned. Successfully complete the training / certification process for this position. Wage Information The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $78,000
