Exempt Job Summary:
The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for overseeing the housekeeping department, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. This leadership role includes managing staff, controlling budgets, coordinating with other departments, and upholding the hotel's brand standards and guest satisfaction goals. ________________________________________
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
Supervise daily operations of the housekeeping department. Ensure rooms and public areas are cleaned and maintained to hotel standards. Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and laundry facilities. Implement procedures for lost and found items, linen handling, and sanitation.
Staff Management:
Hire, train, schedule, and evaluate housekeeping staff. Assign tasks and ensure optimal staffing levels for efficient operations. Provide ongoing coaching and development to team members. Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and labor regulations.
Inventory and Budget Control:
Manage supplies and linen inventory; place orders as needed. Monitor housekeeping expenses and assist in budget preparation. Implement cost control measures without compromising service quality.
Guest Service:
Respond promptly to guest complaints and requests. Ensure all housekeeping staff uphold excellent customer service standards. Work closely with the front office to coordinate room status updates.
Administration:
Maintain accurate records of schedules, inspections, inventory, and maintenance needs. Prepare reports on department performance, occupancy, and housekeeping status. Collaborate with other departments, including maintenance, F&B, and HR. ________________________________________
Education & Experience:
Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or related field preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of housekeeping supervisory experience in a hotel environment. ________________________________________
Work Conditions:
Fast-paced hospitality environment. Requires standing, walking, and physical activity throughout shift. May require weekends, holidays, and flexible hours. Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Executive Housekeeper or similar role in a hotel setting. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Knowledge of cleaning procedures, supplies, equipment, and OSHA standards. Proficient in MS Office and hotel management software (e.g., Opera, PMS).
