UHealth Tower Schedule:
3:00 PM - 11:30 PM (Mid Shift), Including Alternating Weekends The Supervisor, Environmental Services oversees staff in charge of maintaining the sanitation standards of the University. Moreover, this employee ensures that cleaning and housekeeping services are provided to all assigned areas in a timely and effective fashion.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Approves or recommends the selection of employees and evaluates employee performance. Assigns schedules and duties to staff ensuring appropriate coverage. Trains and instructs staff on cleaning and sanitation standards, to include proper mopping and cleaning methods. Ensures staff disposes of waste and handles soiled linens appropriately. Ensures compliance with occupational safety regulations and informs workers of potential hazards in cleaning supplies. Provides information to staff regarding material safety data sheets. Reviews and evaluates cleaning supply and equipment inventories and recommends or makes purchases. Makes rounds to inspect the work of staff and provides assistance and support during staffing shortages. Assists with the preparation of departmental budgets, considering the department's goals and objectives. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures. Knowledge of business and management principles. Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations. Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan. Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
