A private family in Sarasota is seeking an experienced Executive Housekeeper to maintain a beautiful, active household to a consistently high standard. This is a long-term position for someone who takes pride in their work, notices what needs to be done, and can manage the daily care of a home without constant direction. Professional private-household experience is required. Applicants whose experience is limited to residential cleaning companies, hotels, or commercial cleaning will not be considered.
Responsibilities include:
Detailed cleaning and daily household maintenance Managing household laundry, including clothing, linens, folding, and organization Researching proper cleaning and care instructions when working with unfamiliar clothing, fabrics, linens, furnishings, or specialty surfaces Maintaining organized closets, pantries, refrigerators, and household supplies Helping the chef keep the kitchen, pantry, and food-storage areas clean and organized Monitoring household inventory and communicating supply needs Preparing guest rooms and assisting with seasonal organization and special projects Working collaboratively with the family's chef, nannies, and other household staff Maintaining discretion and respecting the family's privacy The chef is primarily responsible for the kitchen, with the Executive Housekeeper assisting with organization and overall cleanliness. The nannies share responsibility for keeping the children's rooms, play areas, and toys organized. The ideal candidate is dependable, energetic, highly detail-oriented, and naturally organized. Extensive knowledge of every fabric, garment, or specialty surface is not required, but the candidate must be careful and willing to research proper care instructions before cleaning unfamiliar items.
Requirements:
Professional private-household housekeeping experience Experience working directly for a family—not solely through a cleaning company Willingness to research and follow proper care instructions Ability to prioritize responsibilities and work independently Strong professional boundaries, judgment, and communication skills Ability to pass a background check and provide verifiable professional references Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Compensation starts at $45 per hour and may be higher depending on experience and qualifications.
