Varied What you'll be responsible for: Directs Housekeeping staff and a commercial laundry account in the fulfillment of unit project assignments within budget, with quality and on schedule. Responsible for hiring, training & discipline of staff. Establishes and maintains training protocols and policies for the department. Ensures proper scheduling of the department based off of hotel occupancy and budgetary guidelines provided by the director of hotel operations. Maintain established labor productivity utilizing KVI reports to measure business volumes vs payroll. Maintains the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc. and the appearance of Housekeeping areas, and performs regular inspections of resident areas and rooms for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties. Performs regular inspections of hotel guest, ancillary, and common areas for sanitation, order, safety, and comfortable environment.
Requirements:
: High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of progressive housekeeping experience in a hotel, resort, casino, healthcare, or similar hospitality environment, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory or management role.
SKILLS:
Strong leadership, coaching, team-building, and employee development skills. Excellent guest service skills with the ability to effectively resolve guest concerns and employee issues in a professional and timely manner. Strong organizational, time management, prioritization, and multitasking abilities with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with guests, team members, vendors, and individuals from diverse backgrounds. Demonstrated problem-solving, critical thinking, conflict resolution, and sound decision-making skills. Knowledge of housekeeping operations, commercial laundry practices, cleaning chemicals, infection prevention procedures, OSHA regulations, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and safe equipment operation. Experience with labor management, scheduling, budgeting, inventory control, purchasing, and departmental productivity metrics. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and hotel property management systems. Experience with Visual One is preferred. Ability to learn, operate, and train staff on all departmental equipment and procedures.
