Job Description Director of Housekeeping / Executive Housekeeper Position Summary The Director of Housekeeping / Executive Housekeeper is responsible for the overall daily operation of the Housekeeping Departments across three hotel properties . This position ensures that each property consistently maintains the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, safety, and guest satisfaction. The Director of Housekeeping leads, coaches, and develops housekeeping teams while maintaining labor efficiency, controlling departmental expenses, enforcing company policies, and ensuring exceptional quality standards throughout all three hotel properties. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Leadership & Operations
  • Direct the daily operations of the Housekeeping Departments across all three hotel properties.
  • Lead, motivate, coach, and develop housekeeping staff to ensure exceptional performance and accountability.
  • Foster a positive team environment focused on quality, efficiency, and outstanding guest service.
  • Ensure all housekeeping policies, procedures, and quality standards are consistently followed.
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in guest rooms, public areas, storage areas, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure company standards are consistently met.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns and resolve housekeeping-related issues.
  • Maintain excellent communication with Front Desk, Maintenance, and other departments to ensure seamless hotel operations. Staffing & Scheduling
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and retain qualified housekeeping team members.
  • Prepare weekly employee schedules while ensuring proper staffing levels based on hotel occupancy and business demands.
  • Manage labor costs by maintaining proper staffing during peak and slower business periods.
  • Ensure employees receive proper orientation and ongoing training.
  • Evaluate employee performance and provide coaching and development opportunities.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels across all properties. Inventory & Cost Control
  • Complete monthly inventories of: o Linens o Cleaning supplies o Housekeeping equipment o Departmental supplies
  • Monitor departmental expenses and maintain cost controls.
  • Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Minimize waste and prevent unnecessary supply loss. Quality Assurance
  • Inspect guest rooms daily to ensure the highest level of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Monitor room readiness and productivity to ensure rooms are available on time.
  • Ensure housekeeping quality standards consistently exceed guest expectations.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction scores and implement corrective action when necessary.
  • Ensure all safety and sanitation standards are maintained. Employee Relations
  • Provide coaching, counseling, and ongoing employee development.
  • Administer verbal and written disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate employee documentation.
  • Promote teamwork, professionalism, and accountability. Administrative Responsibilities
  • Complete departmental reports accurately and on time.
  • Maintain employee files and training records.
  • Utilize email, iPad, and basic computer applications for daily operations.
  • Communicate effectively with management and department leaders. Qualifications
  • Previous hotel housekeeping management experience required.
  • Multi-property management experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to effectively manage labor costs and departmental budgets.
  • Excellent guest service and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
  • Proficient with iPad, email, and basic computer applications. Physical Requirements Most work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled hotel environment. The employee must be able to:
  • Walk and stand for approximately 100% of the workday.
  • Walk throughout multiple hotel properties while supervising employees.
  • Frequently provide direction and instruction while walking the property.
  • Meet room inspection and cleaning deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Lift up to 15 pounds regularly.
  • Push and pull housekeeping carts and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds on occasion.
  • Work efficiently in confined spaces and throughout large hotel buildings.
  • Bend, stoop, squat, stretch, kneel, and climb while performing inspections.
  • Perform repetitive motions involving grasping, writing, walking, standing, sitting, climbing, and reaching.
  • Maintain visual acuity and hearing necessary to inspect rooms and communicate effectively.
  • Use manual dexterity to operate housekeeping equipment, mobile devices, and office equipment. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Must be available to work all shifts , including: o Days o Evenings o Weekends o Holidays
  • Must be available to travel and work between multiple hotel properties as business needs require.

Pay:
From $70,000.00 per year
