Environmental Services Supervisor (2nd Shift)

UK Chandler Hospital Position Summary The Environmental Services (EVS) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping team during second shift. This position ensures that patient rooms, public areas, offices, and other assigned hospital spaces are cleaned and maintained according to hospital standards for safety, cleanliness, and infection prevention. They report directly to Operation Managers and Assistant Directors on the 2nd shift. The supervisor provides leadership, training, and support to housekeeping associates while ensuring staffing needs, quality standards, and customer service expectations are met. This position is expected to perform housekeeping duties and assist with cleaning assignments as needed to support department operations. Training Requirement (Mandatory) Must be available for two consecutive weeks of training Training schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervise and support housekeeping associates during assigned shift Monitor staff performance and ensure compliance with hospital cleaning standards and infection prevention protocols Conduct routine inspections of patient rooms, public areas, offices, and restrooms to ensure quality standards are met Assign daily work tasks and adjust staffing assignments based on departmental needs Train new associates and provide ongoing coaching and support Respond promptly and professionally to requests, concerns, and service issues from patients, visitors, and hospital staff Ensure cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment are properly used, maintained, and stocked Complete required documentation if needed Assist with discharge cleaning, occupied room cleaning, and other housekeeping duties as needed Clean and sanitize patient rooms, bathrooms, lobbies, offices, and workspaces when staffing or workload requires Address spills, biohazard situations, broken glass, and other housekeeping issues promptly and safely Promote a positive team environment and maintain professional communication with staff and hospital personnel Ensure compliance with all hospital, company, and regulatory policies and procedures Perform additional duties as assigned Job Requirements Must be 18 years of age or older Previous housekeeping, environmental services, or healthcare cleaning experience preferred Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred Must pass background and drug screening Must be able to walk long distances and lift/pull up to 25 lbs. Must be able to speak, read, and write English and communicate effectively with staff, patients, and hospital personnel Must be able to work rotating weekends and holidays Must be able to lead a team, prioritize workloads, and make decisions in a fast-paced healthcare environment
