Housekeeping Supervisor The Homestead | Glen Arbor, Michigan Full-Time | $21.00-$23.00 per hour | In Person About the Position The Homestead is looking for an experienced and dependable Housekeeping Supervisor to join our Accommodations team. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who takes pride in creating clean, comfortable, and welcoming accommodations for our guests. The Housekeeping Supervisor helps lead the daily operation of the department, supports and coaches our housekeeping team, and ensures that guest rooms and resort accommodations are prepared to The Homestead's standards. The ideal candidate is organized, approachable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced resort environment. You should enjoy working with people, solving problems, and helping a team succeed. What You'll Do Help lead the daily operation of the Housekeeping Department. Review daily arrivals, departures, stayovers, owner stays, and special requests to help organize the day's priorities. Assign guest rooms and housekeeping duties using the department's housekeeping board. Monitor room progress and communicate room readiness with the Accommodations team. Inspect guest accommodations to ensure they meet The Homestead's cleanliness and presentation standards. Provide guidance, coaching, and support to Housekeeping team members. Train new employees on cleaning procedures, room standards, safety practices, and department expectations. Help coordinate staffing and adjust daily assignments as needed. Work closely with Laundry to ensure the department has the linens needed for daily operations. Monitor housekeeping supplies and equipment and communicate replenishment or repair needs. Identify maintenance concerns in guest accommodations and submit them through the established work-order process. Respond professionally to guest concerns related to housekeeping and cleanliness. Work collaboratively with Front Desk, Laundry, Interior Maintenance, and other resort departments. Help maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment. Step in to assist with housekeeping duties when needed to support the team and guest experience. What We're Looking For Previous housekeeping, hotel, resort, or hospitality experience preferred. Previous supervisory or team-lead experience is a plus. Experience using a housekeeping board or room-status system preferred. Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high cleanliness standards. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work in a busy resort environment. Comfortable providing direction, coaching, and support to team members. Reliable, professional, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Windows. Ability to learn and use resort systems and software. Ability to climb stairs and walk throughout multiple resort properties. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull housekeeping supplies and equipment as needed. Availability to work weekends and holidays as part of a hospitality schedule. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment background check. Why Join The Homestead?
