Role:
The Housekeeping Supervisor in the manufacturing industry plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment that supports operational efficiency and employee well-being. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the housekeeping team, ensuring that all manufacturing areas, offices, and common spaces meet stringent cleanliness and safety standards. The supervisor will develop and implement cleaning schedules, monitor supply inventory, and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations. By leading and training housekeeping staff, the supervisor ensures high performance, teamwork, and adherence to company policies. Ultimately, this role contributes to a productive manufacturing environment by minimizing hazards and promoting a culture of cleanliness and orderliness.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 3 years of experience in housekeeping or janitorial services, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment used in industrial or manufacturing settings. Familiarity with occupational health and safety standards relevant to manufacturing environments. Strong organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in industrial cleaning or facility management. Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial facility. Training in OSHA regulations and safety compliance. Proficiency with scheduling and inventory management software. Leadership training or courses related to team management.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the housekeeping team to ensure all assigned areas are cleaned and maintained to company standards. Develop, implement, and monitor cleaning schedules and procedures tailored to the specific needs of manufacturing facilities. Train, mentor, and evaluate housekeeping staff to promote high-quality work, safety compliance, and professional development. Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary to maintain adequate stock levels. Conduct regular inspections of work areas to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Collaborate with other departments to address housekeeping needs and support overall facility operations. Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, staff attendance, and incident reports.
