Housekeeping Supervisor Old Waverly Golf Club is an exclusive private golf club steeped in tradition, elegance, and world-class hospitality. Beyond the fairways, Old Waverly offers an experience that extends far beyond the game itself. We are seeking a motivated and experienced full time housekeeping supervisor to join our team. The club offers an excellent work environment and a professional management team. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including some weekends and holidays.
Duties/responsibilities:
- Ensure that each member of housekeeping understands the department's cleaning procedure
- Review employee work performance and conduct regular inspections to ensure that quality standards are met
- Ensure staff members comply with safety regulations, such as appropriate footwear, labeling secondary containers or using ladders
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment and linens, ordering new supplies as needed
- Ensure that lost and found items are properly logged, stored and returned to guests in a timely manner
- Report complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, taking any necessary corrective action
- Report complaints of staff members
- Coordinate front desk and housekeeping maintenance requests with the proper maintenance personnel including Old Waverly's on-site maintenance person updating the director of lodging and the front desk with a weekly room maintenance report
- Visually check rooms with the housekeeping quality checklist and maintenance related items
- Train new employees and provide ongoing guidance to improve team performance
- Any other tasks as assigned by department manager/department head
Required Skills/abilities:
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Ability to think critically over housekeeping issues and cost-effective solutions
- Thorough knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of experience in supervisory/management position
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, stand, kneel crouch, stretch and twist or reach, and lift up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time
