The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department to ensure guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces meet the hotel's cleanliness and quality standards. This role supervises housekeeping staff, conducts inspections, and helps maintain a safe, welcoming, and efficient environment for guests and employees. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of room attendants, housepersons, and laundry staff. Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and facilities to ensure they meet cleanliness, safety, and brand standards. Assign daily work schedules and monitor staff productivity. Train, coach, and mentor housekeeping employees on cleaning procedures, safety practices, and customer service. Ensure housekeeping supplies, linens, and equipment are stocked and properly maintained. Report maintenance issues and coordinate with the engineering department for timely repairs. Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and housekeeping-related concerns. Monitor compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Assist with inventory management and ordering of housekeeping supplies. Complete required reports, room status updates, and shift documentation. Support the Executive Housekeeper in achieving departmental goals and maintaining quality assurance standards. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel or hospitality environment required. Prior supervisory experience preferred. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Basic computer skills and familiarity with hotel property management systems are an asset. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 30 pounds throughout the shift. Ability to push and pull housekeeping carts and equipment. Capable of performing physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment.
