Job Summary The Director of Facilities Management & Environmental Services provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all facility maintenance, engineering, environmental services (EVS), life safety, security coordination, and regulatory compliance activities within the healthcare organization. This position ensures a safe, clean, compliant, and patient-centered environment that supports exceptional clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, and employee engagement. Facilities Management & Engineering
- Direct all building operations, maintenance, utilities, infrastructure, grounds, and physical plant services.
- Develop and execute preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
- Ensure reliable operation of critical systems including HVAC, electrical distribution, emergency power, medical gas systems, water management, and fire protection systems.
- Lead Environment of Care (EOC) and Life Safety programs.
- Manage facility assessments, capital planning, renovation projects, and construction activities. Environmental Services (EVS)
- Provide leadership for housekeeping, sanitation, waste management, and environmental cleaning functions.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare cleaning and disinfection protocols.
- Partner with Infection Prevention to support HAI reduction initiatives.
- Monitor cleanliness scores, patient satisfaction metrics, and departmental performance indicators. Compliance, Safety & Regulatory Oversight
- Maintain compliance with TJC, CMS, OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and state requirements.
- Serve as a key leader during accreditation surveys and inspections.
- Lead Environment of Care, Safety, Emergency Management, and Life Safety committees. Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop facilities and EVS teams.
- Establish performance goals and accountability measures.
- Drive employee engagement, retention, and succession planning initiatives. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare facilities management, EVS, engineering, or operations.
- Knowledge of TJC, CMS, NFPA, OSHA, and EPA regulations.
