University School (Hunting Valley, OH) is seeking a 2nd shift
Housekeeping Supervisor:
FLSA Status:
Non-exempt Reports to: Facilities Manager, Hunting ValleyBASIC FUNCTIONS
This position is a working Supervisor position and is responsible for ensuring the interior spaces of the Hunting Valley administrative, academic, and athletic areas are kept clean, orderly, and represent the high values of University School. This position is expected to work alongside the Hunting Valley Housekeeping staff to accomplish all tasks while managing their time to perform supervisory duties such as assigning tasks, projects, and inspecting of work for housekeeping staff. Maintains accurate supply of housekeeping supplies and equipment and order inventory as required.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cleans classrooms as assigned including flooring/carpeting, tables/desk, boards, equipment, etc. moving furniture to allow for the appropriate cleaning.
- Cleans common areas as assigned. Ability to work on a team to clean large, common areas such as the dining hall. Must move tables and chairs prior to cleaning floors. Must sweep and mop floors.
- Cleans restrooms or locker areas as assigned.
- Assigns daily and/or weekly assignments to housekeepers based on the needs of the school.
- May provide input to the housekeepers' annual performance reviews
- Maintains an adequate stock of all housekeeping supplies and equipment, takes periodic inventory and order supplies as necessary.
- Checks all doors and windows are locked during the shift as required by the school functions.
- Maintains consistent daily contact with the Facilities Manager to review assignments, work completed/non-completed and any personnel challenges or issues.
SKILLS / EDUCATION
- Minimum of two years of supervisory experience preferred
- Supervisory training
- Must be dexterous, able to lift or move heavy furniture.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to kneel, crouch and/or crawl;
- Must be able to work around chemical cleaning solutions; and must know how to properly use cleaning equipment such as a vacuum cleaner or floor scrubber
- Must be self-motivated and able to complete his/her tasks with little or no supervision
