What You Will Do:
Supervises and coordinates activities and works with cleaning crews engaged in housekeeping activities. Responsible for all functions related to personnel efficiency and performance to assure that daily tasks are being completed and safety rules are observed. Tours each facility, as needed, covering each assigned area to observe Housekeeping Attendants/Couriers at work and to determine that instructions are followed and safety rules are observed. Schedules and assigns work detail to provide adequate staffing for the department; prepares daily assignments to include established routines as well as special assignments. Responds to floor and emergency calls; performs all tasks, duties, and responsibilities of the Environmental Services, as required. Instructs and trains employees in the use of new equipment and cleaning methods; changes in job duties, new department policies/standards and operating procedures. Makes sure policies and procedures are followed by department staff. Monitors inventory of cleaning materials, supplies, and equipment and prepares requisitions for replacement of depleted items and equipment in need of repair. Provides input in performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and counseling. Keeps records of rooms and other areas of the Medical Center that have been cleaned. Communicates with Manager daily and at all meetings.
What You Will Need:
High School diploma, or equivalent and two years of housekeeping experience. Two years of leadership experience including demonstrated supervisory skills. Ability to lift 50 pounds and be mobile. Ability to maintain orderly records. Ability to determine cleanliness. Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations. Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form. Must possess a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator's license and be insurable under Firelands' auto policy. Employee must provide proof of personal automobile liability insurance coverage upon request. Punctual attendance at assigned work location is required. Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner and maintain an accident free work place, including ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of emergency codes. Ability to comply with OSHA regulations and CDC standard and transmission-based precaution recommendations and to utilize proper personal protective equipment. Ability to comply with provisions of applicable S.D.S. forms. Successful completion of a ninety (90) day probationary period.
