Job Description

The Canopy by Hilton Portland Pearl District is hiring a Housekeeping Supervisor. The Hotel Housekeeping Supervisor oversees daily cleaning operations, manages room attendant shifts, and ensures guest rooms and public areas meet strict brand cleanliness and sanitation standards. They train staff, handle guest requests, and monitor inventory to maintain seamless hospitality operations.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Scheduling:
Create daily and weekly work schedules, assign specific floors or room blocks, and conduct daily briefing huddles with team members.
Quality Inspections:
Inspect guest rooms, VIP arrivals, hallways, and public areas to ensure compliance with hygiene and aesthetic standards before release to the Front Desk.
Guest Services:
Act as a point of contact to promptly resolve guest complaints, fulfill special requests (extra towels, specific bed types), and manage the Lost & Found program.
Inventory & Supply Management:
Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and amenities, placing orders as needed and organizing storage closets.
Training & Compliance:
Train new housekeepers, ensure adherence to OSHA and hotel safety/hazard protocols, and coordinate with Engineering/Maintenance for room repairs.
Qualifications:
Experience:
1-3 years of prior experience in housekeeping operations or custodial services, ideally in a hotel/hospitality environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and lift or carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
Core Skills:
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills combined with a solid working knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques and chemicals.
