Job Description

The MCM Elegante Beaumont is looking for a Full Time Housekeeping Manager. The Housekeeping Manager will fill a key leadership role in the hotel. As the appearance and cleanliness of the hotel is paramount to all guests, you will ensure that the housekeeping and laundry divisions meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. The manager of this dynamic team ensures that hotel guest rooms, public spaces, and other areas of the hotels are immaculately clean, organized, and sanitary. A key responsibility of this position is to create exceptional experiences which leave our guests feeling assured, settled in, and telling others what a wonderful experience they had while staying at the MCM Elegante Beaumont. Duties and Responsibilities:
Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly service-oriented manner. Ensure that employees are always attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees. Inspect Room Attendant's work performance within assigned section daily to ensure the standards and productivity levels are being met and maintained. Assign employee daily duties, including housekeeping boards, houseman duties, laundry priorities. Conduct Morning/Afternoon Standup meetings as needed. Inspect all V.I.P. rooms and report their availability to the Front Office, according to hotel standards. Oversee the closing of the floors at the end of the day, ensuring the Room Attendants' carts are clean and restocked. Ensure records of daily assignments are completed, signed off and turned into the housekeeping office on time. Maintain key control. Handle items for "Lost and Found" according to the standards. Monitor cleanliness and orderliness of Room Attendants' carts, linen closets, control closets, stairways, and landings. Oversee the daily assignment of duties, ensuring Room Attendants and Houseman, and Laundry Attendants carry a work assignment. Carry an active radio to maintain contact with the Front Office and/or Engineering throughout the shift. Report on progress of all out-of-order rooms under the Housekeeping Department's supervision to the Asst General Manager / GM, according to standards. Initiate work orders for repairs and maintenance and forward to Engineering. Follow through on each work order until completed. Oversee company and brand training of all employees in Housekeeping Department. Motivate coach and counsel staff as necessary. Collect all keys and assignment sheets daily at the end of the shift. Attend all hotel meetings and trainings as required by Management. Ensure completion of cleaning projects on a quarterly basis. Scheduling staff's work schedules and duties according to productivity standards and forecasted occupancy, monitors staff's adherence to schedules and duties. Be aware of any suspicious activities or persons. Report such activity immediately to the General Manager. Follow all departmental rules and procedures in doing your job. Be aware of and follow all safety rules and use caution in doing the job. Ensure all areas of the hotel meet / exceed Brand Standards. Comply with Company Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations. Must be able to cross-train in other hotel related areas. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Complete all tasks as designated by the General Manager.
Assists in all areas of the hotel as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • An instantly recognizable and contagious passion for hospitality. Responds quickly to guest requests/complaints in a friendly manner. Relays appropriate requests or complaints to appropriate subordinate or manager. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • To be part of a team maintaining high guest service scores. Guest service scores are an absolute top priority.
  • Able to stand for at least 8 hours & the ability to maneuver or move up-stairs equipment and supplies which may weigh up to 25 pounds by him/herself, 50 pounds with someone. Must be able to walk, stand, climb, kneel, reach, crawl, push, pull and twist most of the day.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Must possess the ability to read, comprehend, and follow simple to moderately complicated verbal and/or written instructions to perform tasks assigned and to maintain records.
  • Be able to effectively communicate with hotel guests, staff, and other suppliers / vendors professionally to ensure safe operation of property housekeeping department.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of safety and emergency procedures and be able to execute them when necessary.
  • Previous housekeeping supervisor experience preferred
  • Must be able to work with and secure sensitive and/or confidential material and information.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with little or no supervision, responding to and handling unfamiliar situations with little supervisory guidance.
  • Strong independent judgment and decision-making skills are required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate of available guidelines and procedures, interpret precedents, and adopt standard methods or practices to meet variations in facts and/or conditions.
  • Must work well under pressure and remain calm during stressful situations.
  • Must possess solid organizational skills with the ability to simultaneously prioritize multiple priorities and/or projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work with multiple deadlines, maintaining efficiency and control over projects assigned within time frames allowed and changing priorities.
  • Must adhere and follow all State and OSHA requirements including equipment and chemical handling safety and storage to ensure the overall safety of others.
  • Must have a valid driver's license
