Job Summary As an Assistant Director of Environmental Services , you will assist the Director in leading and overseeing the operational needs of the Housekeeping Department. You will coordinate the activities of the operations managers and frontline associates, serve as a liaison between administration and various departments, and help ensure the highest level of service throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain standards and work procedures for all Housekeeping staff in accordance with facility policies and best practices Plan work schedules, staffing hours, service areas, and job assignments to ensure housekeeping services are provided effectively throughout the facility Interview, select, hire, evaluate, and recommend disciplinary action or termination of housekeeping personnel in accordance with facility policies and standards Orient, train, develop, and supervise Housekeeping staff to support operational excellence and employee growth Conduct routine inspections and evaluations of the facility, identify opportunities for improvement, recommend corrective actions, and assist with facility relocations as needed Lead regular staff meetings and collaborate with leaders from other departments to coordinate housekeeping activities and support organizational goals Schedule and oversee major projects, ensuring adequate staffing, equipment, and supplies are available to meet project requirements Monitor and maintain inventory levels of housekeeping supplies and equipment Assist the Department Director with budget planning, monitoring, and cost control initiatives
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience required Working knowledge of housekeeping operations, procedures, and industry best practices preferred Demonstrated career progression and leadership experience within healthcare environmental services, housekeeping, or facility support operations Strong work ethic with a commitment to quality, customer service, and continuous improvement Excellent written and verbal communication skills, active listening abilities, empathy, and strong problem-solving capabilities in both individual and group settings Ability to utilize a collaborative and participative management approach, remain effective under pressure, organize and prioritize multiple responsibilities, and contribute to budget development while maintaining a strong understanding of facility needs Excellent organizational, administrative, follow-through, and stress management skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with associates and clients Apply to TouchPoint today!
