What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

- Job Description
- This position provides a wide variety of cleaning services and other related duties required to keep the facilities in a clean and orderly condition.
- This position will be dispatched to various site locations between Anchorage and the Valley to provide environmental services contract support to multiple buildings and facilities. Travel dispatch notification, duration, and location will vary based on client and contract demand. The point of hire for this position is Anchorage, AK.
- Responsibilities
- + Clean, sweep, mop, vacuum, sanitize and/or restock hallways, stairways, offices, food preparation or break areas, offsite areas, restrooms, public areas, or other work areas as assigned.
- Qualifications
- + High school diploma or GED equivalent. + At least 6 months experience that demonstrates a working knowledge of cleaning equipment and general cleaning processes. + The ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, callouts, etc. + Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
Background Requirement:
Level One:
- An individual is ineligible to work in any position that has Regular Contact With or Control over Children, Dependent Adults or Vulnerable Persons if the individual has been convicted of: + One or more felonies and/or two or more misdemeanors of Crimes Against Persons and/or Crimes of Violence.
