What they do

A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Until Filled JANITOR (Fairview Center) - Ensure the center is clean, safe and left in an orderly condition each day. Clean floors, windows and other surfaces; remove trash and replenish supplies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Six months related experience and/or training

Ability to understand and explain verbal and written instructions

Knowledge of approved cleaning and sanitation methods

Awareness and knowledge of safety standards

Integrity and ability to work independently

Valid Alaska Driver's License, current auto insurance and a good driving record

PHYSICAL/MENTAL ABILITIES AND PROCESSES

Constant standing during shift

Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping and repetitive arm/hand movements

Frequent lifting of 25-50 lbs.

Occasional pushing and pulling of heavy furniture and equipment

Full-time (35 hrs/wk regular school weeks, 20 hrs/wk EHS only weeks), full-year (50 weeks/yr)

Salary:

$18.07 - $22.26 per hour DOE Plus benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, professional development opportunities, paid personal and sick leave, paid holidays, and retirement plan with matching contribution.
