Job Description

Position:
Night Porter Jacksonville-Anniston Area The night porter sets the scene for the guest's stay and ensure that guest requests are actioned. Setup and/or breakdown of event space when needed. Perform deep cleans and preventative maintenance duties around the hotel. Responsible for the security of the hotel, its guests, and other staff members. Complete guest requests and hotel projects efficiently, accurately, and within given deadlines. Your duties will include keeping the outside and public areas of the hotel clean and tidy. This will include general maintenance
  • as well as guests needs throughout the night.
Also ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel throughout the night. Record any unusual occurrences or problems that arise to the Manager and take appropriate action. Key responsibilities of a night porter
Security:
Performing regular security checks throughout the hotel premises, ensuring all doors and windows are properly secured, and reporting any suspicious activity.
Guest service:
Assisting guests by handling inquiries, providing basic information about the hotel, and delivering any necessary items or amenities. Handling guest requests and maintenance issues. Cleaning and maintenance : Maintaining the cleanliness of the lobby, common areas, and reception area during the night shift, including tidying up, vacuuming, mopping, and replenishing supplies. Deep cleaning & preventative maintenance projects: Shampooing carpets, painting, cleaning PTAC units, changing light bulbs, logging maintenance issues, etc.
Emergency response:
Responding to any emergencies that may occur during the night, such as fire alarms, medical situations, or guest disturbances, and taking appropriate action.
Preparation for the next day:
Breakdown and set up conference rooms for future meetings/events and ensure the hotel is ready for the next day's operations. Skills and qualities needed for a night porter role: Excellent customer service skills and ability to interact positively with guests Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and secure environment Good communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in emergency situations Basic knowledge of security procedures and safety protocols Flexibility to work night shifts Since being founded in 1919, Hilton has been a leader in the hospitality industry.
