Full Job Description Summary of Position:
The Sanitation Associate plays a vital role within the operations team at Fortune Fish & Gourmet. The primary responsibility of this position is to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness for the facility and its equipment, thereby ensuring both product quality and process integrity. This objective is accomplished by fostering effective collaboration with operations personnel and developing appropriate sanitation solutions that align with the company's goals.Description Equipment Sanitization :
Dismantle, clean, and sanitize seafood processing machinery, cutting tables, racks, and ice vats using high-pressure hoses, foamers, and specialized cleaning solutions.Facility Maintenance:
Clean and disinfect drains, floors, walls, and shipping/receiving areas. Remove seafood byproducts and waste properly.Compliance & Safety:
Adhere strictly to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), and OSHA standards.Chemical Handling:
Safely handle, dilute, and store industrial cleaning chemicals. Collaborates closely with operations to ensure a pristine environment and a high-quality product. Adheres to company policies to uphold food safety and quality standards. Acts to maintain and enhance the sanitation processes at Fortune. Monitors and immediately reports any potential contamination concerns to the Supervisor. Maintains precise records of cleaned areas in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Ensures that the cleaning supply closet or room is consistently organized and well-maintained. Establishes and cultivates effective working relationships with all employees at Fortune. Performs additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.Minimum Requirements:
Experience:
A minimum of one year of experience in cleaning within a food processing environment is required. Preference will be given to candidates who have been exposed to proteins in meat, poultry, or seafood processing. Additionally, a foundational understanding of safe chemical handling practices and the ability to adhere to stringent safety protocols are necessary.Environment:
Work in wet, cold environments (refrigerators, freezers), requiring heavy protective gear.Education:
High School diploma or equivalent.Work Ethic:
Demonstrated desire to work in an exciting and fast-paced environment. Must be a team player with a positive attitude.Communications:
English verbal communication skills.Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand for extended periods (8 hours per shift), frequently bend, reach, twist, lift/push/pull equipment and containers weighing between 30 to 50 pounds.
