A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

The Calaveras County Office of Education ("CCOE") partners with our four local school districts and the community to provide quality education to our county's 5,270 students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grades. We manage alternative education programs for students at Calaveras River Academy, Mountain Oaks Charter School (an Independent Study program), and Oakendell Community School. We also offer adult education services, and a variety of special education services as the Responsible Local Agency ("RLA") for the Special Education Local Plan Area ("SELPA"); including, five special education preschool programs and a program for transition-aged young adults (ages 18-22). CCOE is now hiring for a variety of full and part-time positions, whether serving in the classroom or supporting operations outside of the classroom. Job Summary Job Summary Under the direction of the Associate Superintendent of Administrative Services, the Custodian/Building Attendant performs routine custodial services and maintains building and adjacent grounds areas to assure facilities are clean, safe, secure and orderly. The incumbent has primary responsibility for performing custodial services at the CCOE main facility however, may be required to perform custodial services at other CCOE facilities as needed and directed, while the regular employee is on a leave of absence.
