A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Monday - Friday 5pm-8pm Minimum hours Major holidays off with pay after probation period Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Custodian to join our team (hablamos español) . The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all employees and visitors. This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to upholding high standards of cleanliness across commercial, industrial, and residential spaces. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and backpack vacuuming in designated areas. Conduct floor care activities such as buffing, stripping, and waxing to maintain the appearance of floors. Clean and disinfect clinical patient rooms Ensure all restrooms are clean, stocked with supplies, and maintained regularly. Handle waste disposal and recycling in accordance with company policies. Assist with basic facilities maintenance tasks as needed to ensure the functionality of the premises. Respond promptly to cleaning requests or emergencies to maintain a clean environment. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; report any shortages or needs to management. Follow safety protocols and procedures while performing custodial duties. Requirements Previous experience in commercial or industrial cleaning is preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of custodial practices including floor care techniques is a plus. Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as buffers and vacuums safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks that may involve lifting, bending, or standing for extended periods. Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A valid driver's license may be required for positions involving travel between locations.
