Day Porter/ Utility Porter Coastal Facility Services Carlsbad, CA Job Details Part-time $19 an hour 23 hours ago Qualifications Sanitation English Property maintenance Attention to detail Waste transport Full Job Description Day Porter / Utility Porter Coastal Facility Services is seeking a reliable, professional, and hardworking Day Porter / Utility Porter to support the daily cleanliness and general upkeep of a commercial property in Carlsbad, CA . This position is ideal for someone with experience in commercial cleaning, day porter services, facilities maintenance, or handyman/utility work . The right candidate will be comfortable performing routine cleaning duties while also assisting with basic, non-licensed maintenance and property upkeep. Pay $19.00 per hour Schedule Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM 30-minute unpaid lunch Responsibilities Property & Common Areas Patrol common areas, elevators, stairwells, hallways, lobbies, and entrances throughout the day. Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of interior and exterior common areas. Remove trash, litter, and debris from walkways, entrances, and parking areas. Sweep exterior entrances and sidewalks. Clean lobby and entrance door glass and remove fingerprints and dust. Wipe down exterior fixtures, benches, tables, and trash receptacles. Maintain cigarette disposal areas and replenish sand as needed. Respond promptly to spills, hazards, and service requests. Restroom Maintenance Maintain restroom cleanliness throughout the day. Spot clean sinks, toilets, urinals, counters, and floors. Restock paper products, soap, and other restroom supplies. Mop and sanitize floors as needed. Respond to restroom service calls during business hours. Unclog toilets and sinks using standard tools and methods. Trash & Recycling Gather and remove trash throughout the day. Replace trash liners as needed. Collect trash from interior common areas and exterior receptacles. Transport waste to designated collection or disposal areas. Light Maintenance & Utility Porter Duties Replace light bulbs, batteries, ballasts, and other small electrical components. Change batteries in dispensers as needed. Perform minor patching and paint touch-ups on walls, doors, and trim. Replace or adjust ceiling tiles as needed. Assist with minor adjustments to interior and exterior doors, including locks, hinges, and handles. Perform small, non-licensed repairs as directed by property management. Additional Property Support Provide general cleaning support in offices, hallways, lobbies, and common areas. Dust and spot clean walls, carpets, and flooring. Maintain vacant suites on a weekly basis. Assist with moving light furniture or equipment as requested. Assist property management with miscellaneous requests. Assist with power washing, blowing, cobweb removal, and minor landscaping support as requested. Stay productive throughout the workday by identifying and addressing areas that require attention. Weekly Duties Vacuum stairways. Dust stairway lights within reach. Dust doors and handrails. Spot clean walls. Dust, spot clean, and generally maintain vacant suites. Safety & Reporting Respond immediately to spills, hazards, or service calls. Report suspicious activity to management immediately. Report broken or damaged items to management. Report maintenance concerns and safety hazards to property management. Perform other duties reasonably within the scope of utility porter services as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience as a Day Porter, Utility Porter, Janitor, Facilities Technician, Maintenance Technician, or Handyman preferred. Commercial cleaning experience preferred. Basic experience with light maintenance and repairs. Comfortable using basic hand tools. Reliable and punctual. Strong attention to detail. Able to work independently and stay productive throughout the day. Professional and courteous when interacting with tenants, vendors, and property management. Good communication skills. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Able to safely perform the physical duties required for the position. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining a property , pays attention to detail, and takes initiative when they see something that needs attention. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, respond to property management requests, maintain a professional appearance, and assist with both cleaning and basic utility/maintenance tasks . This position is more than a traditional cleaning job . It combines day porter services, janitorial support, property upkeep, and basic utility/maintenance responsibilities. Employment Type Part time
