Position Summary In this position, you will clean and sanitize production equipment, packaging machinery, and facility work areas to ensure a safe, clean, and compliant manufacturing environment. Your work helps ensure high-quality products are produced in accordance with USDA regulations, GMPs, and company food safety standards. Job Functions Perform pre-operational and operational cleaning and sanitizing of equipment, machinery, and production areas. Use high-pressure hot water hoses, cleaning chemicals, and sanitation tools to clean equipment and facility surfaces. Disassemble and reassemble equipment for thorough cleaning and inspection. Remove product residue, debris, and waste materials from machinery and work areas. Clean floors, drains, walls, conveyors, machine parts, and other production equipment. Apply approved cleaning and sanitizing solutions following established procedures. Prepare equipment and work areas for production by ensuring cleanliness and sanitation standards are met. Review daily cleaning assignments, gather required supplies, and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Complete required sanitation records and documentation accurately. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all food safety, GMP, USDA, safety, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Perform general housekeeping and other duties as assigned. Qualifications Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to learn sanitation procedures, equipment operation, and cleaning techniques. Ability to safely use cleaning tools, equipment, and sanitation chemicals. Ability to follow written instructions, SSOPs, safety procedures, and company policies. Basic understanding of workplace safety and chemical handling, or willingness to learn. Reliable attendance and flexibility to work assigned schedules and overtime as needed. Must successfully complete required background screening and safety training, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO). Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the shift. Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Work in wet, humid, and temperature-variable environments. Ability to use hand tools, hoses, and sanitation equipment for extended periods. Ability to safely work around manufacturing equipment and moving machinery. Must be able to wear required PPE, including gloves, safety glasses, waterproof gear, and other protective equipment.
