The ideal candidate maintains a clean, sanitary environment throughout the facility. Maintains building and grounds in clean and orderly condition. Assists in providing a clean, safe, dignified, happy and healthy environment for residents by performing the duties as described below. The ideal candidate can work with either AM (4am to 12:30pm) or PM (1:30pm to 10:30pm) Full-Time shifts. Janitor Requirements Vaccinated against Covid-19 including Booster shots Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing Home Previous experience as a Janitor High school diploma or equivalent Must be authorized to work in the United States Primary Janitor Responsibilities Complies with the facility's attendance policy requiring regular, reliable, and punctual attendance Cleans or provides maintenance to rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker area, parking lots, facility grounds and other work areas so that health standards are met Cleans resident rooms according to assigned schedule and established facility procedures. Cleans other areas of the facility and performs other janitor-related tasks as assigned by Housekeeping Supervisor Assists Housekeeping Supervisor with weekly and monthly major housekeeping tasks as requested Follows all universal precautions and infection control procedures and can answer Department of Health on proper isolation precautions Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures Maintains all supplies and cleaning products out of residents' reach using housekeeping carts Notifies managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems, and reports hazards such as broken, loose or worn flooring, handrails, etc., to Maintenance Supervisor or Administrator Follows rules for equipment handling Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaners, shampooers, and carpet extractors; buff floors or hallways and all common areas Maintains floors in a hazard-free manner; uses "wet floor" signs, as appropriate Maintains building, performing minor and routine painting, and other related maintenance activities Changes light bulbs, replaces fixtures, and similar minor electrical tasks Opens clogged drains, fixes leaks, and performs other simple plumbing jobs Does touch-up painting and repaints rooms as required. o Performs simple carpentry tasks such as installing shelves, hooks, etc Empties wastebaskets, empty and clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas Maintains tools and maintenance equipment in working order and keeps maintenance room in clean and safe condition Keeps hallways and corridors clear of carts and equipment when not is use Provides support services to other areas of the building as needed. Attends in-service training classes as assigned Assists in the installation of new machines and equipment under direction of supervisor or contractor vendor Any other assignments as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor and/or Administrator
PAY SCALE
$17 Depending on a number of factors, including, but not limited to location, regularly scheduled work shift, knowledge, skills, experience, and expertise. #NN
