What they do

A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Requirements / Qualifications

Valid California Driver's License.
Completion of high school or equivalent
One (1) year of experience in custodial work OR
Six (6) months of experience equivalent to the level of Custodian with Fontana Unified School District Please read "Job Description/Essential Elements" above to review additional qualifications for this position.

Proof of certificates, education, etc. will be required upon recommendation for employment. Comments and Other Information

OPEN TO CURRENT FONTANA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT EMPLOYEES AND PREVIOUS EMPLOYEES THAT ARE ON THE 39-MONTH RE-EMPLOYMENT LIST TESTING

Qualified applicants will be notified via email regarding testing for this position. Testing will be tentatively scheduled by 10/9/26. Interviews will be tentatively scheduled by 10/18/26.
