Custodian Worker

Classified Job Description TITLE:

Custodian Worker 7 hrs per day/210 work days

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. High School diploma 2. Demonstrated aptitude for the successful completion of tasks assigned 3. Ability to read basic operating instructions and write reports 4. Pass a pre-employment physical 5. Clear Fingerprint/DOJ check

REPORTS TO

Site Principal The general responsibility of the custodian's position is provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient place in which to learn, play and develop.

Specific performance responsibilities include:

Sweeps, mops, waxes and polishes floors; vacuums carpets; collects and empties waste baskets. Sweeps or blows sidewalks and assists in keeping outside premises in an orderly condition. Cleans mirrors, blinds, light fixtures, heat/AC registers, windows, walls and drinking fountains as needed. Assumes responsibility for the closing of the buildings each school day and determines, before leaving, that all doors and windows are secured, and all lights except those left on for safety reasons are turned off. Reports promptly major repairs needed. Makes minor repairs as directed to buildings, equipment, furniture, cabinets, grounds and utilities Receives custodial supplies and equipments, and maintains necessary inventories; Gives direction and assistance as needed to groups using the school buildings and grounds during after school hours. Replaces light bulbs and tubes as needed. Cleans restrooms and replenishes towels, tissue and soap. Cafeteria & gym cleaned daily Spray all door handles with disinfectant

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and work year to be determined by the Board in accordance with contract negotiated. Work year to commence on August 1, 2026

EVALUATION:

Performance of the job will be evaluated by the Site Administrator in accordance with written policy pertaining to the evaluation of classified personnel.
