Job Description

Position Overview Summary:
The Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the entire facility including the manufacturing areas. This role ensures a safe and hygienic work environment by performing routine cleaning tasks, waste disposal, and minor maintenance duties. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial cleaning and a strong commitment to workplace safety. Essential Functions Perform regular cleaning and sanitation duties in production areas, break rooms, restroom, offices, conference rooms, and common areas. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize floors to maintain a clean and safe environment. Empty trash cans, dispose recycles following company policy and replace liners in all designated areas. Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors. Maintain and restock cleaning supplies and materials as needed. Assist with cleaning and sanitizing equipment and machinery in accordance with safety guidelines. Ensure proper disposal of waste materials and hazardous substances when applicable. Perform routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor. Follow all company policies, safety protocols, and OSHA guidelines. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness to support overall health and safety within the facility. Other Skills/Abilities To be successful as a Janitor, key skills and abilities include: Ability to lift up to 65 pounds as required for cleaning and maintaining the facility. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety. Ability to work 20 - 25 hours per week, with potential flexibility in shifts. Prior experience in janitorial or custodial work is preferred but not required. Good physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks. Physical work environment requires manual labor, including standing, walking, and lifting. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, requiring proper handling and safety precautions.
