A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Department Summary:
UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge (LAL) is a 52-acre conference and retreat destination located in the San Bernardino Mountains. The property features 83 guest lodging units and approximately 10,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, accommodating groups of up to 200 guests. LAL serves approximately 30,000 guests annually during the Conference season and an additional 4,000 guests during the Bruin Woods season. Through its lodging, dining, meeting, and recreational facilities, Lake Arrowhead Lodge supports UCLA's educational, conference, and alumni engagement missions while providing exceptional hospitality in a unique mountain setting.
Position Summary:
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for maintaining Lake Arrowhead Lodge's (LAL) high standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest service. The incumbent oversees all housekeeping operations, including assigning duties, inspecting guest rooms and public areas, investigating service complaints, and implementing corrective action as needed. The Housekeeping Manager establishes and communicates housekeeping standards through training, coaching, and performance evaluations. This position oversees housekeeping functions for the LAL property. This role is responsible for daily supervision of approximately 20 full-time career housekeeping employees.

Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications:
3+ years Supervisory experience in housekeeping or rooms operations at a hotel, resort, or conference property of comparable or larger size. (Required) Verbal and written communication skills sufficient to effectively communicate with diverse populations with competing priorities (Required) Experience maintaining a high productivity standard within a broad scope of responsibility despite frequent interruptions, changing priorities, changes in workload, and competing requirements. Ability to complete a large volume of diverse tasks efficiently, meeting established deadlines (Required) Working knowledge of housekeeping policies and standard operating procedures for cleaning and sanitation of guest rooms, public areas, office space, and meeting rooms (Required) Skill in interacting effectively with guests, team members, and managers in a high-volume, public setting using positive body language, direct eye contact, active listening, and a friendly and professional demeanor (Required) Demonstrated skill in supervising staff including delegating work to accomplish departmental goals and objectives efficiently and effectively, while motivating individuals to work together as a team (Required)
Education, Licenses, Certifications, & Professional Affiliations:
Must possess, upon hire, and maintain a valid CA noncommercial Class C License in accordance with the California (CA) Department of Motor Vehicles. (Required) Driver's License (Required)

Driving Record:
The position is subject to the California DMV "Pull Notice System" and continued employment is contingent upon proof of a satisfactory driving record. Must be available to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on departmental needs (Required) Drive University Vehicles (Required) 5% Travel to the UCLA main campus to attend meetings, training programs, and other University-related business activities.
