Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the Day Porter is responsible for keeping the campus clean, safe, and welcoming by performing custodial duties, light groundskeeping, supporting events, and ensuring all shared spaces remain stocked, sanitized, and presentable. This job has multiple openings available with the following schedules and start times: Wednesday to
Saturday:
Schedule can range from 7am - 2pm, start times are flexible Thursday to
Monday:
Schedule can range from 7am - 2pm, start times are flexible Friday to Sunday (Part-time): Schedule is for 8hrs a day, start times can be 7am or 11am
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, conference rooms, common areas, hallways, and other occupied spaces. Clean, disinfect, and restock student, faculty, and public restrooms, ensuring supplies remain available throughout the day. Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners as needed. Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and spot clean floors, carpets, furniture, windows, and other surfaces. Clean glass, doors, drinking fountains, handrails, and high-touch surfaces to maintain a sanitary environment. Perform basic groundskeeping duties, including assisting with light landscaping tasks such as watering plants and pulling weeds. Set up and break down tables, chairs, staging, tents, and equipment for school events, meetings, assemblies, and special functions. Provide event support before, during, and after events, including cleaning, trash removal, room resets, and ensuring facilities are presentable. Secure assigned areas by ensuring doors, gates, and windows are properly closed or locked when required. Perform other custodial, facilities, or operational duties as assigned to support campus operations. Qualifications (knowledge, skills, abilities): 1-2+ years of janitorial, facilities, or related experience Ability to communicate with property staff and team members in a clear, professional manner. Ability to adhere to company safety protocols.
Conversational English Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, pull, push up to 50 pounds. Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting and walking for long periods of time.
Other Requirements:
Must be able to pass federal background check and Tb test Valid Driver license
