Janitorial Worker The Stanislaus County Fairgrounds is seeking a dependable and hardworking Janitorial / Grounds Maintenance Worker to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests, staff, vendors, and event attendees year-round. Position Summary This position is responsible for general housekeeping and janitorial duties throughout the Fairgrounds, including cleaning restrooms, event buildings, common areas, and assisting with light landscaping and grounds upkeep. Team members play an important role in supporting fairs, concerts, community events, and facility rentals. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Clean and sanitize public restrooms regularly Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain event buildings and offices Empty trash and replace liners throughout the grounds Set up and clean up for events and facility rentals Maintain cleanliness of sidewalks, entryways, and public areas Perform light landscaping duties including weeding, watering, blowing, and general grounds upkeep Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and restroom products Report maintenance or safety concerns to supervisors Operate cleaning equipment and tools safely Assist other departments as needed during events and Fair time Qualifications Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and reliability Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and during Fair operations Previous janitorial, custodial, or groundskeeping experience is preferred but not required Desired Skills Positive attitude and strong work ethic Good time management Ability to follow directions and safety procedures Customer-friendly and professional demeanor Work Environment This position involves frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and working around large crowds and active events. Duties may vary depending on Fairgrounds activities and event schedules.

Pay:

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
