A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.
High school graduate or General Education Degree (GED). Minimum 5-years' experience in general maintenance, repair and troubleshooting. Practical experience with industrial hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment (calipers, multimeters) Ability to perform diagnostic tests, inspection, and troubleshooting of electrical components for manufacturing equipment. Capacity to stand for long shifts, climb ladders, and safely lift up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities:
Inspect work for completeness. Determines materials, equipment, and supplies to be used. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures of manufacturing machines and ancillary equipment. Installs, inspects or repairs and maintains electrical, plumbing, mechanical and other related systems. Executes scheduled maintenance including equipment lubrication, inspection, replacement of worn parts, and checking fluid levels. Performs maintenance in accordance with company's preventive maintenance program. Understand and utilize blueprints and technical diagrams. Documents all maintenance and repairs. Operates, inspects, and maintains the heating and cooling and ventilation systems. Perform general facilities maintenance and repairs such as painting, wall repair, plumbing lighting and equipment. Coordinates contract work with outside sources such as electricians, plumbers, gardeners, and security. Properly assembles or disassembles eyelet presses for rebuild work. Maintains part cleaning machines. Trains personnel on proper maintenance procedures performed by production associates. Advise general foreman of any major problems with machines. Advise plant manager of any major problems with machines, other equipment, grounds and building. Maintain security of the building and premises. All other duties as assigned by Management.
