Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, exam rooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and public areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment. Handle laundry duties including washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens in accordance with healthcare standards. Safely operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, steamers, and carpet cleaners to maintain high standards of sanitation. Follow OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines for chemical handling and manual handling procedures to ensure a safe work environment. Manage chemical agents responsibly by understanding proper storage, usage instructions, and disposal methods to prevent contamination or accidents. Conduct routine sanitation checks throughout the facility to ensure compliance with healthcare infection prevention protocols. Assist with heavy lifting tasks using safe lifting practices when moving supplies or equipment around the facility. Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, supply inventories, and safety inspections as required by environmental services protocols. Respond promptly to special cleaning requests or emergency sanitation needs with professionalism and efficiency. Qualifications Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles within healthcare facilities or similar environments is preferred. Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to chemical handling, safety protocol adherence, and environmental services best practices. Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention and control standards is highly desirable. Ability to operate various cleaning equipment safely and effectively. Strong manual handling skills with an emphasis on safe lifting practices for heavy or bulky items. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly approach when interacting with staff, patients, and visitors. Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy objects safely, and work in a fast-paced environment.
