Janitorial/Sanitation Supervisor - Distribution Center Join Our Team We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Janitorial/Sanitation Supervisor to lead sanitation operations in a fast-paced food distribution center. This role is ideal for an experienced leader who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workplace. Key Responsibilities Supervise and support janitorial and sanitation employees. Assign daily duties and ensure adequate staffing across all work areas. Inspect warehouse, dock, office, restroom, breakroom, and common areas for cleanliness. Ensure sanitation tasks are completed correctly and on schedule. Train employees on cleaning procedures, chemical handling, PPE, and equipment use. Enforce food-safety, sanitation, GMP, and workplace-safety standards. Maintain cleaning schedules, inspection records, and required documentation. Monitor cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment inventory. Ensure chemicals are properly labeled, stored, and used according to safety guidelines. Coordinate deep-cleaning projects and respond to spills or urgent sanitation needs. Partner with Quality Control and warehouse leadership to prepare for inspections and audits. Identify sanitation concerns and implement corrective actions. Schedule employees, approve timecards, and coordinate breaks and time-off requests. Coach employees, complete performance evaluations, and address attendance or performance concerns. Promote a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment. Complete additional duties as assigned by warehouse leadership. Qualifications Previous janitorial, sanitation, or housekeeping experience in a warehouse, food production, or distribution environment. At least one year of leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of sanitation procedures, cleaning chemicals, and safety requirements. Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, or food-safety standards is preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to train employees and hold the team accountable. Basic computer skills, including email and timekeeping systems. Ability to work independently and respond quickly to operational needs. Flexible availability to work different shifts, weekends, holidays, or overtime when required.
