A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

This is routine custodial work involving the care and housekeeping of the Robert A. Christensen Justice Center. Work involves varied responsibility for participating in the performance of a variety of tasks including cleaning, minor maintenance and repair tasks, and room set-ups.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(The following examples are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive.) Maintain all floor surfaces. Cleans and sanitizes restrooms and replenishes supplies. Dusts and polishes woodwork and furniture. Cleans and maintains all interior building surfaces. Collects and disposes of trash. Secure building nightly. Operation, basic maintenance and adjustment of mechanical custodial equipment. Report all maintenance issues to Lead Custodian. May be required to perform basic maintenance EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Generally a high school diploma or GED equivalent and knowledge of the proper use and safety of cleaning supplies and tools or equivalent.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License upon hire, with complying insurance. Review of motor vehicle record is required at time of hire and periodically throughout employment. This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check including fingerprinting through a national database.
