A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY
Keep buildings and grounds in clean and orderly condition and perform general repairs as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Vacuum classrooms, hallways, and offices. Mop classrooms, kitchens, hallways, and offices. Empty trash/garbage Clean windows, vents, windowsills, and all window accessories. Load and unload deliveries. Sanitize indicated areas; clean toilets, sinks, and walls. Clear internal and external egresses. Shovel snow as needed. Mow grass and rake leaves. Strip and wax floors. Maintain and maintain the cleanliness of commercial carpets. Move furniture. Maintain tools, secure supplies, and equipment. Notify the supervisor about any unhealthy or unsafe conditions. Keep children's outdoor play area clean and safe. Provide parking lot security for special events as needed. Change light bulbs, change/cut ceiling tiles, and bolt children's furniture. Performs other cleaning'repair duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Two years' experience performing a variety of maintenance activities. Must be able to pass online training through Trust University. Ability to lift __50___ pounds; ability to push __50___ pounds Verbal and interpersonal skills required. Valid Connecticut Driver's License.
