A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Bridgeport, CT Job Details Full-time 2 hours ago Qualifications Employee relationship building Driver's License Driving Full Job Description SUMMARY In accordance with RNP's Mission Statement, Philosophy of Client Care and Code of Ethics as stated in the Personnel Policies and under the supervision of a Department Director keep designated buildings and grounds in clean and orderly condition for occupants by performing the following duties.
HOURS:
Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
CORE FUNCTIONS
Perform minor maintenance tasks and assist with various projects Move furniture and office equipment Completes work order as directed Responsible for supply needs and inventory control of assigned building Performs minor or routine maintenance on custodial equipment Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, stairs, offices, and client spaces. Ensures that exteriors of buildings and grounds are kept clean and free of ice and snow. Inventories janitorial supplies and reorders as appropriate. Assists maintenance and custodian crew as required. This will include driving between programs. Performs miscellaneous errands as directed (valid current Driver's License required) Reports damaged ceiling tiles, wall defects and lighting outages. Be available on-call to respond to alarms and emergencies. May be required to work on weekends. Assumes all other appropriate duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
CORE COMPETENCIES
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Custodial experience and/or training preferred. Ability to function independently. Considerable knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding client confidentiality. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships. Excellent communication skills. Ability to project a professional image.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES
Incumbents may be required to secure professional certification and/or a license. A valid and current Driver's License is required.
