Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian to join our facilities team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a positive atmosphere while honing your skills in commercial cleaning, floor care, and facilities maintenance. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of all areas including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment. Conduct detailed floor care activities such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and polishing to maintain a professional appearance. Handle janitorial responsibilities including trash removal, restocking supplies, and disinfecting high-touch surfaces regularly. Operate custodial equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Performs all routine maintenance of buildings and grounds including routine mowing, snow and ice removal, planting, clean-up of grounds, and regular cleaning of interiors and minor repairs. Requirements Proven experience in custodial work or janitorial services within commercial or industrial settings. Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques including floor care procedures like buffing and polishing. Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks and minor repairs Ability to operate cleaning machinery safely and effectively. Excellent attention to detail with a proactive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness standards. Physical stamina to perform repetitive cleaning tasks, lift heavy objects when necessary, and stand for extended periods. Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and report issues clearly.
