Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Head Custodian - East Lyme High School (ELHS).

Union Contract:

Local 1303-187 of Council 4 AFSCME, AFL-CIO (Custodian & Maintenance) Seeking motivated, technically proficient, and experienced custodial leader to manage the care, cleaning and operation of the 214,000 square foot High School facility. ELHS has a reputation for producing graduates who excel in academics, athletics, and community activities. We are searching for a candidate who is highly motivated to provide the best maintained facilities possible for the building's occupants. See attached job description for full listing of duties and responsibilities. First shift 0600-1430 M-F, year-round, permanent position. Incumbent is required to work overtime as needed and respond to after hours, weekend, holiday calls. Union position - starting wage for external candidates will be $27.61/hour subject to currently ongoing contract renegotiations.
