Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, and common areas using commercial cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers to maintain cleanliness and appearance. Handle chemical agents safely during cleaning and sanitation procedures, following all chemical handling safety protocols. Conduct routine maintenance tasks including minor repairs, painting, and general facilities upkeep to ensure optimal operation of the premises. Utilize proper manual handling techniques for heavy lifting and moving supplies or equipment to prevent injury and maintain safety standards. Maintain cleanliness of windows, walls, fixtures, and furniture to uphold a professional environment. Follow safety protocols diligently during all custodial activities, including proper use of cleaning equipment and chemical agents. Assist with industrial cleaning projects or specialized tasks such as residential painting or porter duties as needed to support overall facility maintenance. Experience Prior custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or industrial settings demonstrating familiarity with cleaning procedures and equipment. Experience handling chemical agents safely in accordance with safety procedures is highly desirable. Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, sealing, and polishing floors using appropriate equipment. Proven ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safe lifting practices. Customer service skills that foster positive interactions with staff and visitors while maintaining a professional demeanor. Background in facilities maintenance or general upkeep work that includes minor repairs or painting is advantageous. Familiarity with safety protocols related to industrial cleaning, chemical handling safety procedures, and general maintenance standards.
