A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Nextran Truck Centers Porter/Janitorial Assistant - Ocala, FL Are you looking to further develop your profession into a career? Are you driven by opportunity? Nextran Truck Centers is hiring! The Porter is responsible for ensuring the organization and tidiness of all office spaces and the Shop. Performs janitorial duties of the administrative offices and spaces, kitchen areas and the Shop. Runs floor scrubber as needed. Performs general maintenance and upkeep to the Shop, grounds and building, including light painting. Moves vehicles as needed to different locations on the dealership lot. Delivers and picks up various things from external locations. Operates a forklift. Safely lifts heavy items. Understands, keeps abreast and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, etc. All other duties as assigned. Skills and Qualifications Valid driver's license and safe driving record required. Effective communication skills, basic math and reading skills, and ability to follow directions Ability to stay on track with little to no supervision Basic computer skills High school diploma or GED Physical Demands Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms Entry and exit from various types of vehicles multiple times a day Regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs.; occasionally required to lift and move weight greater than 50 lbs. Frequently required to walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear. May be required to sit for extended periods of time (hours) Regularly exposed to outdoor environments; hot and humid conditions Noise level is usually loud
