What they do

A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

Clean and maintain all public and back-of-house areas throughout the airport terminals and facilities. Remove trash, vacuum, mop, disinfect surfaces, and replenish supplies to provide a tidy, sanitary, and welcoming environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Empty trash cans and replace liners in all areas. Vacuum carpets, rugs, and upholstery. Clean and disinfect restroom surfaces and fixtures. Wash windows, walls, counters, fountains, and other fixtures. Mop, sweep, and scrub hard surface floors. Dust furniture, displays, and equipment. Replenish paper products, soap, etc. Identify and report maintenance issues promptly.
OTHER DUTIES
Support cleaning for spills, events, construction. Assist facilities team with inventory and inspections. Provide information assistance to travelers.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Cleaning chemicals and disposable supplies. Floor buffers, carpet extractors, vacuums. Signage stands, wet floor signs. Carts, ladders, and other cleaning equipment.
SKILLS:

EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior cleaning experience desired.
ESSENTIAL FUNTIONS
Constant walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs. Frequent climbing, kneeling, squatting. Withstand exposure to cleaning agents. Comprehend product labels, safety signs. Communicate status updates and requests to team.
