Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Janitor to join our team at Somerset Academy Wellington. As a Janitor, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness will contribute to the overall well-being and success of our school community.

Key Responsibilities:

Cleaning and Sanitizing:

Perform daily cleaning tasks throughout the school premises, including classrooms, hallways, offices, restrooms, and common areas. This includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces to ensure a hygienic environment.

Trash Removal:

Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables from designated areas, ensuring proper segregation and disposal practices are followed in accordance with school policies and environmental regulations.

Floor Care:

Maintain the appearance and safety of floors by scrubbing, buffing, waxing, and polishing as needed. Monitor and address any spills or hazards promptly to prevent accidents.

Restroom Maintenance:

Ensure that restrooms are kept clean, stocked with supplies, and in good working condition. Perform regular inspections to identify and address any plumbing issues or maintenance needs.

Supply Management:

Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other janitorial materials, and notify the appropriate personnel when replenishment is needed. Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as necessary.

Special Projects:

Support special cleaning projects and periodic deep cleaning tasks, such as window washing, carpet shampooing, and furniture upholstery cleaning, to maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of the school facilities.

Safety Awareness:

Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing janitorial duties, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Report any safety hazards or maintenance concerns to the appropriate authorities.

$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
