CUSTODIAN
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age with a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Custodian in a daycare or school setting is preferred, but not required. Must have general knowledge of custodial cleaning principles
- Experience operating commercial cleaning equipment preferred
- Experienced driver with valid driver's license
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
General Job Duties:
Responsible for the cleaning, maintenance, repair, safety and security of the facility and its materials, equipment, and grounds. Works to ensure facility and playground is in compliance with requirements set forth by funding agency(s) regulations, state, and local fire, health, safety, and daycare regulations, and other requirements set forth by the governing agency in the Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual. Inspects facility, playground, and other outside areas for needed repairs and/or safety concerns and performs duties in a manner that does not endanger the safety of others. Ensures that all cleaning materials/solutions/equipment are utilized per manufacturer's instructions and are maintained in a manner inaccessible to children. Recommends the purchase of needed cleaning supplies and equipment to maintain adequate supplies for the facility operation. Assists in obtaining SDS documentation and ensuring compliance with GHS labeling in the workplace. Summary As the Head Start/PreK Custodian, you will be essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children and staff. Reporting to the facility manager, your role involves utilizing your custodial experience and commercial cleaning skills to ensure all areas are hygienic and well-kept. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with a valid driver's license. Your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness will support the overall mission of providing quality daycare services, ensuring a positive experience for all who enter the facility. $15.00 - $15.57 per hour
