BASIC FUNCTION
The Custodial Support Associate helps maintain a clean and welcoming environment by collecting trash and vacuuming assigned areas. This position supports facility cleanliness through routine waste collection and disposal and vacuuming of assigned areas.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Collect and remove waste from designated receptacles in offices, classrooms, hallways, and common areas. Transport bagged waste to designated collection or disposal areas. Replace receptacle liners as needed. Vacuum carpets, rugs, and other designated floor surfaces. Move lightweight items, such as small trash cans or chairs, when necessary to vacuum assigned areas. Return equipment and supplies to the appropriate storage location after use. Report spills, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or areas requiring additional cleaning to the supervisor. Follow established safety procedures and instructions for using equipment and handling waste. Maintain respectful and professional interactions with employees, students, customers, and visitors. Perform other closely related trash-removal or vacuuming duties consistent with the scope of the position.
SUPERVISOR
Facilities Manager Qualifications Ability to understand and follow verbal, written, demonstrated, or visual instructions. Ability to complete assigned tasks independently or with appropriate supervision. Ability to use a vacuum cleaner and basic trash-removal supplies safely. Ability to maintain dependable attendance and follow an assigned work schedule. Previous custodial experience is helpful but not required. Training will be provided.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The employee must be able to perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including: Moving through assigned work areas to collect trash and vacuum. Reaching, bending, or positioning oneself to access trash containers and designated floor areas. Grasping and operating a vacuum cleaner and handling trash bags. Moving or transporting trash bags weighing up to [insert appropriate weight] pounds. Working safely around employees, customers, furniture, and routine workplace obstacles.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily indoors in offices, classrooms, retail areas, common spaces, or similar facilities. The employee may encounter dust, noise from cleaning equipment, and ordinary workplace waste. Appropriate equipment, supplies, and training will be provided. Share job details to
