A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description

The hourly pay range for this position is $17.50 per hour - $18.50 per hour . Key Purpose Industrial Cleaning Technicians are responsible for performing industrial cleaning services in mechanical spaces. These team members work successfully with fellow employees & others to clean industrial and mechanical spaces, dealing with potentially hazardous materials and pharmaceutical waste. This position requires completion of duties year-round in all weather conditions where it is safe to conduct business. Success Criteria Develop skills to support role and team, taking responsibility for increased performance, and ensuring continued self-improvement Participate and embrace the development opportunities within team Key Areas of Collaboration and Influence Support the team, and report to the Janitorial Manager, additional support to Sr. Facility Manager Communicate effectively with colleagues so that information is disseminated effectively Participate in project groups and meetings as required Ideal Candidate Experience High school diploma or equivalent required Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English 40 Hour OSHA Training preferred Attention to detail Good communication skills Able to take and follow directions while being self-directing in tasks Able to perform multiple tasks Excellent customer service skills Key Accountabilities Cleaning and dusting of mechanical spaces including pipes walls, conduits, panels, vessels, and other equipment in the spaces Cleanup of small spills and ensure proper disposal Responsible for proper packaging of waste to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance Attend all compliance and safety update meetings Wear proper PPE for the associated tasks May operate man-lift Works in atmospheres with low clearances, confined spaces and at heights. Physical Demands & Work Environment Cleaning and dusting of mechanical spaces including pipes walls, conduits, panels, vessels, and other equipment in the spaces Cleanup of small spills and ensure proper disposal Responsible for proper packaging of waste to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance Attend all compliance and safety update meetings Wear proper PPE for the associated tasks May operate man-lift Works in atmospheres with low clearances, confined spaces and at heights Frequently lift up to 25 lbs. Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
