Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian / Janitorial Technician to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. This vital role involves performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the highest standards of sanitation, safety, and appearance. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering excellent custodial service that supports the well-being of staff and visitors alike. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of all areas including floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies. Handle chemical agents safely and in accordance with established safety protocols to ensure proper sanitation without risk to health or environment. Operate floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial equipment efficiently to maintain pristine floors and surfaces. Conduct heavy lifting tasks following safe lifting practices when moving furniture, supplies, or cleaning materials. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; report needs for replenishment or repairs promptly. Follow all safety procedures during cleaning operations to prevent accidents or injuries; adhere strictly to chemical handling safety procedures. Support general facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting as needed to uphold facility standards. Assist with industrial cleaning projects or residential painting tasks when required, demonstrating versatility in custodial services. Ensure all sanitation standards are met consistently, contributing to a healthy environment for staff and visitors. Skills Proven experience in commercial or industrial cleaning environments with strong custodial skills. Knowledge of proper chemical agent handling and safety procedures related to janitorial work. Ability to operate various cleaning equipment including floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial tools effectively. Physical capability for manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining safe lifting practices. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude toward staff and visitors. Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting is a plus. Strong adherence to safety protocols and sanitation standards in all cleaning activities.
