This is a multi-purpose building-services position responsible for helping maintain the cleanliness, appearance, functionality, and safety of interior and exterior property areas. The Utility Porter serves as a flexible operational resource, working throughout the property based on daily priorities, scheduled projects, work orders, and property needs.

Part-Time / Full-Time What You'll DoThis is a hands-on position with a variety of responsibilities. Your work may change from day to day depending on property priorities and scheduled projects. Perform specialty floor care, including machine scrubbing, buffing, carpet extraction, and spot treatment Perform pressure washing and exterior cleaning Clean interior and exterior windows and glass Perform high dusting and difficult-access cleaning Complete deep cleaning and scheduled periodic projects Detail-clean laundry rooms, stairwells, parking areas, and common spaces Police exterior areas and remove litter and debris Operate and care for janitorial machines and specialty cleaning equipment Move and distribute supplies, equipment, furniture, and materials as needed Maintain janitorial equipment, storage areas, and supply areas Identify and report building deficiencies, damaged items, and safety hazards Respond to spills and unusual cleaning conditions Assist Site Supervisors with special projects and work orders Support Day Porters and other team members when additional assistance is needed Perform basic non-technical facility-support tasks when trained and authorized What We're Looking ForPhysical RequirementsThis is an active, hands-on position. Employees must be able to perform the physical duties associated with commercial janitorial, specialty cleaning, and utility-support work, including:

Previous janitorial, custodial, utility, building-services, or facility-support experience preferred Experience with floor machines, carpet extractors, pressure washers, or other commercial cleaning equipment is a plus Comfortable performing both interior and exterior work Able to work independently and adjust priorities throughout the shift Willing to perform a variety of tasks rather than remain assigned to one cleaning route Dependable, safety-conscious, and attentive to property conditions Able to follow work orders, instructions, safety procedures, and equipment guidelines Willing to work as part of a team and assist in other areas when needed Standing and walking for extended periods during the work shift Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, pushing, pulling, and repetitive movement Climbing and descending stairs throughout multi-level properties Safely operating commercial janitorial machines and equipment Moving, lifting, and carrying janitorial supplies, tools, equipment, and materials Working in both indoor and outdoor areas and in varying weather conditions Performing cleaning tasks at various heights using approved equipment and safe work practices Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) and safely handling approved cleaning chemicals
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 30.0 per week
